TOWN OF JACKSON MONTHLY BOARD METING
JANUARY 9, 2012
Meeting called to order at the town hall at 7:05 P.M. by Chairperson Connor. Present were Chairperson Dianne Connor, Supervisor Nancy Growe, Supervisor Roger Larson, Clerk Lorraine Radke, Treasurer Kimberly Campion, Road Supervisor Guy Lohman with 12 others present. Absent: Fire Chief Dan Campion. Pledge to flag said. Clerk Radke said proper notices have been posted. Board reviewed agenda, Motion by Supervisor Growe to approve agenda, Seconded by Supervisor Larson, MOTION CARRIED.
Minutes of December 12, 2011 monthly meeting reviewed, Supervisor Larson stated word “PERMIT” was omitted on building permits issued, Motion by Supervisor Growe to approved minutes with correction, Seconded by Supervisor Larson, MOTION CARRIED.
Financial report presented, Treasurer Campion explained County had not printed some of the tax bill’s but they will be sending them out, she spoke of amounts left over in 2011 budget, board will need to look it over to tell her where to put amounts and how much. Motion by Supervisor Larson to approve financial report as presented Seconded by Supervisor Growe, MOTION CARRIED.
Bill’s presented, Treasurer has some more tax refunds to get to clerk to send out, Road Supervisor Lohman explained check # 24109 on his back pay for insurance and pension pay from 2009 due to his raises in pay each time, Motion by Supervisor Larson to pay all bill’s as presented, Seconded by Supervisor Growe, MOTION CARRIED.
Discussion on Fire Dept. Mark Chaklos reported on grass fire at Banach Lake, mutual aid with Webb Lake on L P tank leak and Carbon Monoxide alarm. He spoke on delay in getting new fire truck, the fire dept. is working with company as to equipment on it, some things are not needed, this is not something that can be done in a week or two. But he said there have been comments made about getting the State Trust loan and still no truck. Clerk Radke said people don’t understand that the people from the State told Town to take the loan out NOW while money is available rather then wait.
The new generator will be delivered this week. Supervisor Larson said he thinks the fire dept. has done a great job working on getting the new truck to meet their needs.
Discussion on Highway Dept. RD. Supervisor Lohman said working on public landings in town for water sites for fire dept. Supervisor Larson said he and Tom Heenean have been checking some out and grants the fire dept. have applied for thru Fire Wise Program such as Big Lake and Crooked Lake by Allan Rands to fix up. Lohman said he is stocking up on salt sand thru County, he has had requests from property owners about getting some salt sand for driveways etc. from the town, after some discussion, board agreed that the Road Supervisor use his discretion on letting people get up to a 5 gallon pail at a time. Lohman said trucks are all greased. Been cutting some tree’s that could be dangerous if a bad snow comes. Been updating road signs, discussion on inspection of signs to be done by Jan. 2012, he suggested using the “ Blanket Replacement Method” , will do them like the fire numbers, on a 3 or 4 year program.
Mark Krause spoke on research he has done on the gate problem on Moser Road, he has been in contact with towns Attorney. Grindell on it, as to how far the road was plowed in prior years, Lohman said Bob Proehl told him it had been plowed to tree lines. More will be discussed later on this.
Discussion on Shore road issue, Supervisor Larson and Road Supervisor Lohman met with Dave McCann earlier on it, MR. McCANN SAID IN PAST MINUTES SUCH AS 1968 TO 1972 IT WAS STATED THIS WAS A 3 ROD ROAD, Supervisor Larson will check these minutes out at clerk’s office.
Discussion on hearing officer, Supervisor Larson said the personal director of Burnett County will be the hearing officer.
The second set of storm damage reimbursement papers have been sent in for the 70% reimbursement.
The Town Board Monthly meeting for February will be held at the town hall on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 at 7 p.m.
2 building permits issued since last meeting.
Clerk Radke presented new operators license application from Rita Tesch, who has taken the class, Motion by Supervisor Growe to issue the license, Seconded by Supervisor Larson, MOTION CARRIED.
No further business at hand, Motion by Supervisor Larson to adjourn, Seconded by Supervisor Growe, MOTION CARRIED. Meeting adjourned at 8:35 P.M.
