Town Of Jackson Monthly Board Meeting
August 9, 2010
Meeting called to order at the town hall at 7:00 P.M. by
Chairperson Connor . Present were Chairperson Dianne Connor,
Supervisor Nancy Growe, Supervisor Roger Larson, Clerk Lorraine
Radke, Treasurer Kimberly Campion, Fire Chief Dave Formanek,
Road Supervisor Guy Lohman , Police Chief Paul Johnson, Mark
Krause, from Wagner Surveying with 4 others present. Pledge
to flag said. Clerk Radke said proper notices have been
posted.
Mark Krause spoke to board about Sheltered Pines plat done
up year’s ago as to where town grader turn’s around and
question as to who owns the 66 feet, Town or property owner
(Eickers ) Quite a bit of discussion held on Mr. Krause
giving all the details to town’s attorney Mr. Grindell , that
the Eickers will give a quit-claim deed to the town for
the 66 feet of Greer road to get it legal, after all
discussion, Motion by Supervisor Larson to accept a
quit-claim deed from the Eickers for the 66 feet of Greer
Road , adjacent to Sheltered Pines Plat (section’s 26 & 35 )
discussed, subject to town’s attorney, Mr. Grindell, Seconded
by Supervisor Growe, no further discussion, Motion Carried.
Mr. Krause explained Wagner Suveying will be applying for a
variance to the county on the Gerdesmeier property on Sweger
road, he explained the storage building being on 3 different
properties and all property owners agree to get it
straightened out, just wanted to let the board know of it.
Board thanked Mr. Krause for coming.
Board reviewed the minutes of the July 12, 2010 monthly
board meeting, Motion by Supervisor Larson to approve the
minutes as presented, Seconded by Supervisor Growe, no further
discussion, MOTION CARRIED.
Financial report presented, Motion by Supervisor Growe to
approve financial report as presented, Seconded by Supervisor
Larson, no further discussion, MOTION CARRIED.
Bill’s presented, Supervisor Larson ask about the small amount
for meal’s to treasurer at class, Treasurer Campion explained
different meal’s provided at class, Supervisor Growe ask
about the check to Guy Lohman for records on Sand Lake
Road, he spoke of phone call from a party on the road,
Supervisor Larson said he spoke to road supervisor on it and
told him not to pursue it any further, let the other party
do the leg work on it. After all discussion, Motion by
Supervisor Growe to pay all bill’s as presented, Seconded by
Supervisor Larson, no further discussion, MOTION CARRIED.
Discussion on Fire Dept., Chief Dave Formanek said the
firemen assisted the highway men to help clean up road’s
after the July 14 storm. Some discussion on a real bad
driveway on Thompson road if fire truck’s would need to get
thru, Supervisor Larson said there are other driveway’s in
that area that need attention, if the fire chief will get a
letter to board about attention needed for fire truck’s to
get into driveway’s the board will send out letter’s to
them. Chief Formanek said they were called for mutual aid
with Webster on July 30 but it was cancelled right away. He
said they will be doing pumper operation’s. Dan Campion had
attended a meeting on radios. New sign is up but they will
being doing more work on it. Road Supervisor has been doing
some work on some landings that fire dept. can use for
water sites. George Sonterre said the pancake breakfast was a
little less people this year but was a good turn out.
Discussion on Highway Dept. Road Supervisor Guy Lohman said
have been busy after storm with wash-out’s and downed tree’s.
He spoke of some problem with the radio’s between highway
men and fire men that helped with storm clean up. He got a
worker for 3 day’s from the Restorive Justice program at no
cost to town, trying to get better material on road’s in
some areas that get washed out when it rain’s. D S C checked
out radios for highway dept. and fire dept., John Deere
tractor tire was repaired, tail gate spreader has been
delivered. He and Brad attended a training in Hayward on
grader, was a good training session.
Up date on Planning Commission, Chairperson Connor said will
be sending out copies of our final plan where needed, and
copies will be available at Clerk’s office, present committee
will stay in tact if needed later on. There were 4 of them
attended a class in Solan Springs on it.
Police Chief Paul Johnson gave his report, he spoke of some
no-wake violations but they were not in Jackson. Some
discussion on barking dog’s, Mr. Johnson will check with
county on it. Chairperson Connor ask how dep. Heuer is
doing, Mr. Johnson said he is working out real good.
Date set for September monthly meeting for September 13,
2010 at 7 P.M.
No building permits issued, no operators’ licenses
applications.
Supervisor Larson spoke on W.T.A. meeting’s he has been to,
on the 2011 State budget cut by 10%, Burnett County trying
to establish road weight limits to be uniform thru out Town’s
and County and have a phone number people can call to find
out the information .
Supervisor Growe ask police chief about a t v’s riding on
shore line of lake, he said to call him when it happens
and he can issue ticket.
No further business being at hand, Motion by Supervisor
Larson to adjourn, Seconded by Supervisor Growe, no further
discussion, MOTION CARRIED.
